More torrential rain is sweeping towards the region of north-west China hit by a massive landslide.
More than 700 people are now known to have died and more than 1,000 people are still missing in the remote mountainous area of Gansu province.

Small earthquake hits near Pacific islands
No injuries were reported after the small earthquake on Tuesday the 8th August but several aftershocks, which caused small tsunami.

Russian fires
In west and southern Russia due to the heat waves they are currently experiencing, many fires have started and spead badly. There have been many casualties and homes have been ruined. The article below the video is brief but informative.

Floods in Pakistan
On the 1st of August Pakistan was hit by the worst floods in 80 years. The bbc have got a lot of useful information and a good map further down the page, but the most helpful piece of information is the video clip at the top of the page, because it shows you how badly hit they have been.
